There is two types of Universal Studios Orlando tickets:

Type 1: Base ticket, it allows access to one park per day

Type 2: Park to Park ticket, it allows access to both parks per day, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure

Universal Base Tickets:

• One park per day, visit one park per day, either Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure, each day of ticket.
• No admission into the City Walk.
• Ticket Expires 6 day after first use.
  

Universal Park to Park Tickets: 

• Park to Park tickets allow for access to both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure each day of ticket.
• Good for one day admission into both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure,
• Entire Ticket expires 13 days after first use at either a theme park or CityWalk.
• CityWalk is not included with a 1 day park to park ticket.
• CityWalk is included in 2,3,4 or 7 day Park to Park ticket
